Miss K’s Story

Miss K traveled from West Branch for her boudoir session with me, not once, but twice.

Her first session came from a very personal place. After a painful chapter in her life, she wanted to do something that felt like hers. Something she had dreamed about for years. Something that helped her reconnect with herself in a way that did not require having everything perfectly figured out first.

Her story is not about showing up already confident. It is about being nervous, trying something new, letting herself be seen, and walking out with a completely different understanding of what was possible for her.

Like a lot of clients, Miss K arrived with a mix of excitement and nerves.

Very normal. Extremely allowed.

We started with hair and makeup, which gave her time to settle into the studio before we started shooting. No rushing or immediately throwing her in front of a camera. Just time to talk, get comfortable, and let the “what am I doing?” part calm down a little.

By the time we finished, she told me, “You made me feel like we could be really close friends.”

Which is basically the best compliment because that is exactly how I want this to feel. Not stiff. Not intimidating. Not like you walked into a room where you’re expected to know what you’re doing.

More like, “Okay, I can breathe. I’m safe here.”

Trying Something New

One of Miss K’s favorite parts of her session was getting to explore pieces from the client closet. She already loved lingerie, but like a lot of people, she did not always know what would actually work for her body or photograph well.

She said, “I love lingerie. I just never know what looks good on me, so trying on different things helped me explore new pieces.”

That is exactly why the client closet exists. Not so you have to become a lingerie expert overnight. Not so you have to panic-buy 14 things online and pray one of them fits.

It gives us room to play, experiment, and find pieces that feel good on your actual body, not the imaginary version of your body that online sizing charts seem to think exists.

Seeing Herself Differently

Miss K shared that she had never really considered herself photogenic.

Which, respectfully, is something so many clients say before they see their images. Most people are not bad in photos. They just have not been photographed with posing, lighting, direction, and care.

During her session, Miss K got to see herself in a way she had not expected.

In her words:

“I just didn’t know I could look like that. It also helped me fall in love with my body again just as it is.”

And that is the part that matters, seeing yourself with a little more softness, a little more awe, and maybe a tiny bit of “holy shit, that’s me.”

Walking Out on a High

By the end of her session, Miss K said she felt “on an extreme high” and “on top of the world.”

That does not happen because boudoir magically fixes everything. I will never sell it that way. But sometimes being photographed with care gives you a different kind of proof.

Proof that you can do something scary.
Proof that nerves do not mean you are not ready.
Proof that your body does not have to change before it is worth documenting.
Proof that maybe you have been seeing yourself through a harsher lens than you deserve.

And for Miss K, that shift stayed with her.

In Her Own Words

Here’s what Miss K had to say about her boudoir experience:

“Arielle is phenomenal in every way! I was nervous at first, but having my hair and makeup done with her helped so much. We talked the entire time, and by the end of it, I felt completely comfortable. My nerves were gone. Her work will make you say, ‘Holy crap, I didn’t know I could look like that!’ and not just once, but over and over again! Every woman deserves to experience this at least once in her life. I would do it again in a heartbeat, and most likely will! Thank you, Arielle, for this amazing experience!”

Miss K summed it up best herself:

“You’re fantastic, you changed my life!”

PS. That last part made me super cry.

Thinking About Your Own Session?

You do not have to show up already confident.
You do not have to know what to wear.
You do not have to believe you are photogenic.

Miss K did not walk in with everything perfectly figured out either. She showed up nervous, tried something new, let herself be guided, and left with images that changed the way she saw herself.

That is the whole point.
