Hey there, I’m Arielle

I’m Arielle Roth, a Michigan boudoir photographer based in Downtown Bay City. I photograph real women with real nerves, real bodies, real stories, and very normal “I have no idea what I’m doing” energy.

I'm your professional pose demonstrator, outfit over-thinker, and emotional support human.

My studio is a private, judgment-free space where comfort comes before confidence. I’ll guide you through outfits, posing, tiny hand adjustments, facial expressions, and all the little details that make a huge difference in photos. You get to show up as you are. I’ll help with the rest. I’m not here to turn you into someone else. I’m here to help you see yourself from a different perspective, in a way that still feels like you.

Why I Do What I Do

Boudoir became personal for me long before it became my full-time job. My journey into boudoir started as a way to reconnect with my creativity, but it became something much deeper after I got sober in March of 2021.

Sobriety forced me to face a lot of things I had spent years avoiding. One of the hardest truths was realizing I did not really know how to be with myself without numbing everything first. I had to relearn how to exist in my own body, how to see myself clearly, and how to build a relationship with myself that was honest instead of performative.

It was messy. It was uncomfortable. It was deeply human.

I know what it feels like to feel disconnected from yourself. I know what it feels like to look in the mirror and not fully recognize the person looking back. I know what it feels like to want proof that you are still in there somewhere.

Boudoir is not a cure-all. It is not magic. It does not fix everything overnight. But it can be a moment where you see yourself differently. And sometimes, that moment matters more than people realize.

What a Session with Me Feels Like

A session with me is probably less intimidating than you think. My job is not to stand behind the camera and hope you magically know what to do. My job is to make the whole thing feel doable.

You do not have to arrive confident. You do not have to know your angles. You do not have to perform some perfect version of yourself. You just have to show up. I’ll guide the rest.

The goal is for you to feel safe, supported, and comfortable enough to actually be in the experience instead of worrying the whole time about whether you are doing it “right.” Because you are not supposed to know how to do this, that is my job to show you.

Here’s what you can expect:

A warm, private studio where the nerves are allowed to exist.

Real conversation, actual direction, and zero expectation that you already know what you’re doing.

Full posing guidance from head to toe, including hands, facial expressions, hair, angles, and all the tiny details that make a huge difference.

Space to laugh, breathe, be awkward for a second, settle in, and eventually realize this is way less scary than you built it up to be.

A session that does not require you to love every part of yourself before you walk in.

A safe, judgment-free experience where your comfort, boundaries, and consent matter the entire time.

My sessions are not just about getting pretty photos, even though yes, obviously, the photos matter.

Because sometimes you just need proof that you can show up before you feel ready and still be seen with care.

A Bit More About Me

I’ve been a photographer, graphic designer, marketer, and professional overthinker for more than a decade.

Boudoir is my specialty, but I’ve photographed a little bit of everything over the years, including branding, weddings, seniors, couples, families, and more. Just no newborns. I know my limits and they are very tiny sleeping humans.

I run a private boudoir studio in Downtown Bay City, Michigan with access to a 400+ piece client closet in sizes XS-5XL.

I believe every body deserves to be photographed with care, but I also know most people do not walk into a session automatically believing that about themselves.

I’m an open book about sobriety, healing, mental health, trauma, self-image, and the very annoying process of becoming a person you actually know how to live with.

I am warm, honest, a little chaotic, deeply sentimental, and very serious about making this experience feel safe, comfortable, and actually doable.

Most of all, I care about this work because it is not just about taking pretty pictures. Although, for the record, we will absolutely take pretty pictures.
