Hey, gorgeous! Ready to step out of the ordinary and dive into a boudoir experience that’s uniquely you?
While my private boudoir studio in Bay City, Michigan is a dreamy haven of flattering light and plush decor, there’s something irresistibly magical about taking your session on the road. Whether you’re craving that romantic golden hour glow or imagining yourself lounging in a luxe hotel suite, the right location can take your boudoir shoot from memorable to unforgettable.
And babe, if you’re wondering – yes, I absolutely shoot on location, and I love it. It gets my creativity flowing and gives you even more ways to tell your story. Let’s explore some fabulously bold, unconventional boudoir locations to inspire your next session.
Booking a swanky hotel suite is like hitting the boudoir jackpot. From floor-to-ceiling windows to chic furniture and sultry mood lighting – it’s a pre-styled set just waiting for you to slay. You can pose with skyline views, roll around in crisp white sheets, and celebrate yourself with a post-shoot champagne toast.
Tip: Look for hotel suites with large windows, soaking tubs, or vintage decor. Many clients book locally at Bay City boutique airBNBs or even take their session to Detroit or for a city-chic vibe.
Home is where your story lives. It’s where your energy naturally shines. Shooting at your home adds intimacy, authenticity, and comfort – especially if this is your first boudoir session. Think: bubble baths, lounging in your favorite robe, cozy corners with a cup of coffee, or snuggling your fur baby.
Pro Tip: Tidy up 1-2 key areas with great natural light – like your bedroom or living room. I’ll help you style the space, so it’s photo-ready without losing that “you” factor.
Outdoor boudoir is a whole different vibe – raw, ethereal, and free. From secluded forests to wildflower fields and cliffside overlooks, nature becomes your backdrop. Imagine the wind in your hair, sunlight dancing on your skin, and the grounding energy of the earth beneath you.
Golden Hour Magic: Morning or sunset shoots work best. Plus, Michigan and northern Ohio are packed with hidden gems for dreamy outdoor scenes.
These hidden gems are full of charm and character – from clawfoot tubs and patterned wallpaper to ornate mirrors and gilded furniture. If you’re obsessed with old-Hollywood glam or boho vintage vibes, this is your spot.
Where to Look: Try searching for historic inns or bed-and-breakfasts on Airbnb or boutique hotel platforms.
Ready to unleash your inner badass? Lofts offer a raw, editorial edge that’s perfect for a high-contrast, dramatic session. Exposed brick, big windows, and minimalist decor allow you to play with bold lingerie, statement heels, and powerful poses.
Urban Aesthetic: Perfect for clients who love edgy fashion or want a non-traditional boudoir vibe.
Calling all mermaids. Beach boudoir sessions are pure poetry. The soft sand, crashing waves, and wide-open sky create a sensual yet serene backdrop. It’s about freedom, movement, and embracing your natural beauty.
What to Wear: Flowy cover-ups, wet-look lingerie, or even a sheer sarong can elevate your look. Sunset is your best friend here.
Don’t forget: Bring a towel, flip-flops, and maybe a cozy sweater to throw on after.
Yes, we’re going there. Garages are full of unexpected potential – especially if you’ve got a vintage car, motorcycle, or just love a gritty, rock-and-roll aesthetic. It’s edgy, unconventional, and undeniably cool.
Vibes to Match: Leather jackets, heels, ripped denim, smoky eye makeup. Add a bottle of champagne or a cigarette prop for extra flair.
Don’t sleep on Airbnb for finding hidden location gems. From retro campers and A-frame cabins to treehouses and ultra-modern domes, Airbnb rentals can create one-of-a-kind backdrops that elevate your session and give you a mini-getaway.
Search Filters: Look for “unique stays” or sort by design/style. Many hosts allow photoshoots with prior permission.
Insider Secret: Some of my clients turn this into a girls’ weekend or staycation – book a spot, book the session, then celebrate all weekend long.
With so many killer options, how do you choose? Here’s what to consider:
Lighting: Natural light is your best friend. Look for spaces with big windows and soft tones.
Privacy: Especially important for outdoor or home sessions – make sure you feel safe and comfortable.
Aesthetic: Does the vibe match your personal style or the story you want to tell?
Logistics: Is the location easy to access, weather-appropriate, and within your travel comfort zone?
Budget: Some hotels or Airbnbs may charge extra for photo sessions, so factor that in.
If you’re looking to get extra creative (and score a little discount ), here are some dream locations I’m dying to shoot at:
Rooftop jacuzzi in downtown Detroit
Indoor greenhouse or botanical garden
Lavender or sunflower field in peak bloom
Historic mansion with velvet furniture
Retro diner or bowling alley (think 1950s pin-up)
Wanna be my muse in one of these spots?
At the end of the day, your boudoir session is all about you. Whether you’re snuggled on your own couch or dripping in lace on a velvet chaise lounge, the perfect location is wherever you feel confident, powerful, and ready to own your beauty.
So let’s ditch the rulebook and shoot somewhere that sets your soul on fire. From Bay City to beaches, garage to glam suite, I’m here to make you feel like the goddess you are.
Ready to book your dream session outside the studio?
Boudoir isn’t about showing up already confident, perfectly posed, or magically comfortable in front of a camera.
Most clients walk into their session nervous, that’s completely normal. My job is to help you settle in, guide you through every pose, and create images that feel like you, not some overly edited version of you that looks like she has never had a pore, stretch mark, or life experience.
I photograph real bodies with intention, care, and a whole lot of direction. Every image is hand-edited individually with the goal of enhancing the photo, not changing you into a different person.
Wherever you are coming from, your session is designed to feel comfortable, personal, and actually doable.

What’s one thing that makes you feel confident?
I’ll go first, having my nails and lashes done. I instantly feel more put together even if I haven’t done anything else with myself that day.

"From the moment I walked in, I felt so comfortable, confident, and completely at ease. Arielle created such a welcoming and empowering environment that made the entire shoot feel natural and fun. I was honestly nervous beforehand, but she hyped me up the whole time and made me feel beautiful in every pose.
The photos turned out absolutely incredible and exceeded all my expectations. If you’re thinking about booking a boudoir session, do it. You will leave feeling so confident and empowered. Highly recommend!"

Session prep tip:
Drink some water in the days leading up to your session.
Not because I`m about to give you some weird wellness lecture.
Because you`re going to bending like a pretzel.
You`ll feel better the next day after if you`re hydrated.

Something I`ve heard from a few people lately:
"I`m interested, but I`m really nervous."
And listen, I`d be more surprised if you weren`t.
Most clients walk through the studio door nervous.
That`s completely normal.

It`s been one whole year since coming to the new studio (peep the selfie from my first session here), and it still feels a bit like a pinch me moment when I come in. Sometimes it`s crazy to reflect on a years growth because it`s a lot of time while simultaneously being no time at all.
I generally am someone who will do things on a whim with the belief it`ll work out, and deciding to take a chance by saying yes has continued to still be a pretty rad decision.
Thanks for being here. 💕
